    GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN

     

    Lion Paul Bryant Johnson

    Paul Bryant Johnson, a resident of High Point, passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 22, 2018, at Wake Forest High Point Medical Center.

     

    Paul was born on October 4, 1946, in High Point, to Jeptha Elam Johnson and Thelma Lovette Johnson. He attended High Point City Schools and graduated from High Point Central High School in 1965. Paul attended Wingate College, graduating in 1969.

     

    After a 25 year career, Paul retired as manager of Lowes Hardware in 1999. Soon after his retirement and until the time of his death, Paul was a Broker Sales Associate for Coldwell Banker Triad Realtors.

     

    In addition to his professional career, Paul was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in High Point serving on multiple committees and serving several terms as Chairman of the Diaconate. He was a teacher for the Koinonia Sunday School Class and was currently the devoted and dearly loved teacher of the New Heart Sunday School Class.

     

    Paul was a decades long member of the High Point Host Lions Club. He served as president On two separate occasions; from 2005-2006 and 2013-2014. He also served as Treasurer from 2000 until his death. He was committed to the worldwide mission of Lions Club, and in 2011 was name a Melvin Jones Fellow for his humanitarian service through the Lions Club International Foundation.

     

    On November 13, 1986, Paul married Marie Elaine Allen Quick in Griffin, Georgia and moved to High Point in 1990.

     

    Paul is predeceased by his parents and sister, Laura Leslie Johnson Morrow. He is survived by his wife, Elaine, of the home. He is also survived by three daughters, Merideth Paige Setzerand and husband David, Tracy Dawn Johnson, Marsha Elaine Martin and husband Billy, and one son, Willie Lee Quick, Jr. and wife Jodi. Paul had 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Paul is also survived by his beloved brother-in-law, Bill Morrow. Paul’s family would like to express their thankfulness to God for allowing them to share in Paul’s life; he will be greatly missed.

     

    The family would also like to thank the physicians and staff at High Point Medical Center and the Hayworth Cancer Center for their excellent care and compassion.

     

    Funeral services were held at 11:00 am Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of High Point with the Reverend Dr. W. Joel Campbell and the Reverend Bruce Hartgrove officiating. The family greeted friends at the church following the service. Interment services were private. Members of the Lions Club served as honorary pallbearers.

Main Street, High Point, NC 27260 or the Laura Johnson Morrow scholarship fund to benefit the CancerFITT Exercise Program of the Fitness Center at Wake Forest High Point Medical Center, 610 N. Elm Street, High Point, NC 27260.

    Lion Patricia Franklin

    Patricia Ann Franklin was called home to be will the Lord March 13,2020. She was born on July 6th, 1957 in High Point, NC. She was a woman of God, a wife, a mother, a sister, a friend, and a caregiver, but most importantly, she was truly a worshiper. She knew from whom her help came.

    She had several professions, but embedded within them was her love and giftedness with people. She naturally covered people no matter the age or stage of their life. She was absolutely anointed by the Holy

    Spirit her cup ran over. She attended High Point Public School. She was a member of Freewill Higher Heights Church.

    She was preceded in death by parents Earnest McCorkle and Rochelle Stewart; 3 brothers, Terry, Elvan and Nathaniel Stewart; 1 sister Geraldine Davis. She is survived by her husband James Franklin of the home, 1 daughter Andrea Bullock (Brad), 1 son Aaron Franklin; 5 granddaughters Morgan, Samara, Kayla, Shayla and Yori. 3 siblings Jerome Stewart, Marlene Joines(Bobby) and Darrell Stewart and 2 spiritual sisters Janet Blakeney and Linda Stewart.

    A private Celebration of Life for Patricia will be held by the family.
